TATA TISCON is a premium rebar brand from Tata Steel, the largest steel company in the Indian private sector and sixth largest in the world. It holds laurel of being the first Thermo Mechanically Treated (TMT) rebar in the country. Even since its inception in the year 2000, Tata TISCON has been shaping up the chaotic market of rebar commodity in India with its numerous initiatives. TISCON is new generation high strength ribbed reinforcement bar, the only rebar in India that has acquired the Superbrand status. The new grade of 500D is different from ordinary bars in the method of manufacturing and consequently, in its combination of properties. As part of chemistry, any rebar necessarily contains two harmful impurities, Sulphur(S) and Phosphorus(P) in varying levels, which reduce the strength of steel in extreme hot and cold conditions.

             Strength of the bars are carefully controlled by optimizing the water pressure for their pearlitic core and tough surface of tempered martensite, thereby providing an optimum strength, ductility and toughness. TMT bars are widely used in general purpose concrete reinforcement structures, bridges and flyovers, dams, thermal and hydel power plants, industrial structures, high-rise buildings, underground platforms in metro railway and rapid transport system. TMT Bars are thermo-mechanically-treated through leading world tempcore based technology for high yield strength. The process involves rapid quenching of the hot bars through a series of water jets after they roll out of the last mill stand. The bars are cooled, allowing the core and surface temperatures to equalize. The bar core cools down slowly to turn into a ferrlite-pearlite aggregate.

             The Only plant to adopt this Techonology(QST) for production of rebars from the design stage. These bars are made from virigin steel in blast furnace-basic oxygenfurface- Continuos casting route steel is fully killed made from best quality raw materials.Rolling is done in the state of the art Rolling mills with latest technologies not even single son ofrebar is produced by conversion.VIZAG TMT bars have rare combination of high strength with excellent ductility. The tensile to yield strength ratios are always greater than 1.12.

             Tulsyan Steel is made from the finest quality raw materials through a state-of-the-art manufacturing process. The Raw Material together with sponge iron is melted using furnaces in the presence of electric energy, alloys and oxygen then the impurities are removed and it is cast into the desired shapes. The final product of this phase is known as billets. The Billets are reheated and passed through a roughing stand and then to fourteen continuous stands. These stands are with variable speed motor for getting optimum speeds and close rolling tolerances.
